Routes for Bike & Roll to School Day

We still need parent support for students biking from the Sunset, and we would love to have routes from neighborhoods north of GGP for our annual Bike and Roll to School Day on Thursday, May 15. Students are encouraged to bike, scoot or skate to school. Walking and taking public transportation are also celebrated. We will have bike parking in the gym for the day; the kids and the bikes will receive numbered wristbands to facilitate pick up. Read more details below.
We currently have the following routes:
  • Bernal - meet at the Shell Station 3550 Mission St at 7:30am and take either Folsom to 17th (could take Valencia, but who knows what that street will look like??). Can meet up with the Outer Mission group
  • Castro - meet at 17th and Sanchez at 7:55am and ride down 17th Street
  • Noe Valley - meet at the Farmer's Market Plaza at 7:45am, riding to 22nd St to Folsom to 17th
  • Outer Mission - meet at Garfield Square at 7:50
  • Mission Bay - meet on the Mission Creek shared-use path next to the Mission Bay Library at 8:00
We are looking for parents to lead additional routes:
  • Haight/Ashbury - meet at the Panhandle Playground at 7:45am; take the Wiggle to Sanchez to 17th
  • Your Neighborhood! - Let us know where you are coming from and we will help you get a group together!
If you would like to lead or propose a route, or have any other questions, contact Kirsten Pfleger at kirpfleger@gmail.com.

Parents are asked to accompany their child, especially with younger students. If you are unable to join, please speak directly to a route leader or other parent to ensure everyone's safety.
