Volunteer Service Recognition

Congratulations to Selina Tobaccowala (parent of Callum ‘26 and Seren ‘24) and Barbara Morgenthau (parent of Mimoh ‘17 and Taemoh ‘22) for their recent recognition at the Family House Super Bloom Gala for their leadership in organizing Live Oak’s service efforts.
Live Oak originally started volunteering in 2016, when Barbara’s daughter Mimoh reached out to Family House directly to start a partnership. This turned into monthly family meals, which continues today. During the pandemic, Selina and Barbara continued to gather support from Live Oak families to deliver individual lunches for the families at Family House. They also organized toy drives, pajama drives, and supply essentials for the families to have during their stay.  Altogether, thanks to Selina and Barbara’s leadership, Live Oak has logged a whopping 832 service hours with Family House! Thank you, Selina and Barbara, for being model changemakers in our community!

And a big thank you to the Live Oak community who helped at any of the Live Oak sponsored Family House dinners this year. Live Oak hosted nine dinners in total (one for each class) with an estimated in-kind donation of over $6000. Thank you for all your support!
