Basketball Season Enters Final Stretch

Tao and Everett led the varsity boys on offense in a fast paced contest against Children’s Day School. Live Oak led going into the half behind some inspired play on defense. CDS made some timely shots down the stretch to earn the 53-45 victory. The varsity boys bounced back on Wednesday as they started fast against CAIS by playing strong defense which led to some transition buckets. The team built a commanding lead in the second half and never looked back en route to a 44-25 win. Read about more the results from a busy week of hoops action. 
The Boys JV White played CDS in a scrimmage on Monday as Connell led the way with eight points and Toby put in seven points to help the Lightning cruise to a 32-5 victory. The JV white played strong team defense to make things hard on their opponent throughout the game. They followed that up with a 25-22 victory over KIPP SF with Eddie and Trey carrying the team on the offensive end, while the team worked collectively on defense to hold off a late push from a persistent KIPP SF team to earn the victory.

The JV girls also played in scrimmage this past week. Ailey, Ella D., and Malia led the team in scoring and the team worked hard throughout to earn the 15-4 win over KIPP SF. The JV girls then competed against CAIS on Wednesday as they kept the game close in the early going by playing some inspired defense. Charlotte put in a nice basketball as the Lightning trailed by six going into the half. CAIS made a run late in the third quarter and went on to win. Next week will be the final week of the regular season.
