Middle School Fall Athletics

Live Oak Athletics aims to help students develop sports-related skills, sportsmanship, and the type of teamwork-related skills that are transferable to other aspects of life. As always, we welcome and encourage all students to participate in athletics at Live Oak.
Students can sign up to participate in fall athletics by having their parent(s)/guardian(s) fill out the online sign-up forms which will be located in the Athletics section on the Live Oak family portal. The sign up forms have more detailed information for each sport and will be posted and emailed to families by the first day of school.

Cross-country

Cross-country is open to students in fifth through eighth grades. The cross-country team participates in four or five 1.5 mile races held at various venues in the city. Cross country practices will be held on Mondays 3:30-4:30 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Jackson Park. Practices will start on Wednesday, September 4 and the season will end the week of November 1. The meet schedule will be posted on the Athletics’ tile by Monday, Sept. 9th.

Volleyball

Students in sixth through eighth grades can sign up for volleyball. Volleyball players will practice twice a week. There will be both varsity and JV volleyball teams and the coaches will place students on the team that best meets their needs. The games will be scheduled soon, but practices for all players will begin the week of Sept. 9th.

The JV team(s) will practice on Tuesdays (3:45-4:45) and Thursdays (3:45-4:45)
The Varsity team(s) will practice on Mondays (3:45-4:45) and Wednesdays (2:45-3:45)

Practices and home games will be held at UCSF Mission Bay (1675 Owens St.). Practice days may change depending on the number of sign ups, but most likely won’t. The regular season will end the week of Nov. 1. The season schedule will be posted on the Athletics’ tile on Monday, Sept. 9.
